What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

Yoga in Melbourne is an independent publication and directory covering yoga teachers and studios in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you read the site, follow a teacher, or create a free account.
We have written it in plain language because we would rather you actually read it.
Yoga in Melbourne is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, ABN — to confirm], based in Melbourne, Victoria. You can reach us at any time at hello@yogainmelbourne.com.au.
You can read everything on this site without giving us anything. Profiles, class schedules and articles are freely available and require no account.
If you choose to create an account or follow a teacher, we collect:
We also collect standard technical information when anyone visits the site, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the site you arrived from. This is described under Analytics below.
We use your information to:
We only send marketing or update emails to people who have explicitly agreed to receive them. Ticking that box is optional, and declining it does not stop you using your account.
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you. Separately from marketing, we may send you essential service messages, such as your sign-in link, which are part of the account itself.
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They only handle your information in order to provide their service to us:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise disclose it for anyone else's marketing.
We never give your details to the teachers or studios we cover. If you follow a teacher, that teacher does not receive your email address. We may tell them how many people follow them, and we may send you something on their behalf, but the list stays with us.
We may disclose information if we are required to by law.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which profiles are read and how people arrive. It sets cookies and processes information including your IP address. Google may store and process this information outside Australia, and handles it under its own privacy terms.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without them.
Your browser also stores a small amount of information locally to keep you signed in. Signing out clears it.
Account information is stored by Supabase on servers located in [REGION — to confirm]. Site hosting and analytics providers may also store information overseas. By using the site you accept that your information may be handled outside Australia, under the laws of those countries.
We link out to studio websites and booking systems, including Mindbody and Momence, so you can book a class directly. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, subject to their privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive your booking details.
You can ask us at any time to:
Email hello@yogainmelbourne.com.au and we will action it. Deletion is permanent and removes your follows as well.
Account data is held with an established provider using encrypted connections, and access is limited to what is needed to run the site. Passwordless sign-in means there is no password of yours for anyone to steal. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little, which is the best protection there is.
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you have an account, we will tell you by email.
Contact us first at hello@yogainmelbourne.com.au and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
